Excursion to Melbourne CBD

First I would like to say a big THANKYOU to David Trout for organising this excursion for us.

We started out at the National Gallery of Victoria and saw some amazing pieces including one of my personal favourites Picasso! Took alot of photos here but then unfortunately my battery died :(

After the gallery we had a quick lunch break then moved onto ACMI. I thought ACMI was the best part of the whole day, had an ball with all the interactive things they had there! Myself, Mia and Jarryd, classmates of mine decided to give the Matrix thing a go, the videos turned out great! Here is the best one we came up with!

After ACMI we went to Hosier Lane just off Flinders Street. This is where alot of the famous graffiti pieces live and constantly change. My classmate Tom was kind enough to lend me one of his spare cameras since mine was dead, so took a decent ammount of photos at Hosier Lane including a Hockney piece will I will post later on.

Then we headed over to RMIT to have a look at their gallery which involved Japanese Anime from 1950's - 2000's and another area dedicated to China and Revolution: History, Parody and Memory in Contemporary Art.

All in all was a fantastic day!

Sunday

Fire Assignment - 3 Brainstorms

1. Using 10-20 teabags lined up in a row and lighting each one on fire one by one and having them float up into the air.

2. Film a fireplace burning then project that onto a TV then film a couple cuddling on a couch watching the fireplace on the TV in front of them. The finished piece would be a video of the couple watching their fake fireplace.

3. Use tealight candles to light a path starting from inside somewhere leading outside to show a larger fire.

First Entry

My mind is really being opened up to a lot of new things I never would have thought about myself, its making me think differently and turning me into a better artist. Extremely excited to see what i come up with next!
